I have owned a number of small pen style contact less voltage testers. I use them mainly to make sure that I do not have a live line when I tear into an outlet, or electrical box, or go to touch a wire end that someone else says they shut off at the breaker. Basically it is to make sure that I am not grabbing a live wire before getting shocked. All of them tend to be light weight, and they tend to break fairly easily as they get bumped around in the tool bag. So I do not go for the highest priced one, or the ones that have more features than I actually need. In the case of the Kaiweets Voltage Tester, it kind of hit a unique sweet spot; it was affordable, it seemed well made, and it was easy to operate. I liked that it had a power button to turn it off and on. Many other brands have the twist end that also serves as the battery compartment access access where sometimes you accidentally open the batteries instead of turning it on or off. The Kaiweets tester also will automatically power itself off if you forget to, so you will not go to use it and find it’s batteries are dead. It is pretty straight forward with both a light up indicator and an audible beep when power is detected, and it will give you an approximate voltage level when you bring it near a live circuit. And unlike many of these it will let you know when the batteries are low, so you do not find out while you are trying to use it in the middle of a job.Does it work. Yes. Will it last forever? No. It’s $12. If you need a high end one, pay more for one. Will it cover the needs of a DIY home improvement weekend warrior? Yes it will.

Works as intended with no problems and a decent price. Comes with cheap batteries but batteries nonetheless.

Other than requiring alkaline batteries (which were included), this voltage tester was easy-to-use and worked perfectly. I just take the batteries out after every time I use it, which isn’t that often, so they should last a good five years.I really don’t understand why people still make devices that REQUIRE the 1.5V of alkaline batteries rather than adjusting for the ~1.3V that rechargeables provide. I’d happily have given up the flashlight on this device to get to that lower numberStill, I was warned in advance before I bought it and the price was right, so overall I’m satisfied

So, you’ve decided to embrace your inner electrician with the KAIWEETS Voltage Tester, and let me just say, congratulations! You’ve officially upgraded from “I think that’s live” to “I know that’s live!” This handy little gadget is like your personal electrical safety sidekick, ensuring you won’t accidentally turn yourself into a human light bulb.First off, the non-contact voltage feature is a game changer. You can wave this thing around like a magic wand and detect live wires without having to actually touch them! No more playing hide-and-seek with the circuit breaker—just point and know. The LCD display makes it clear when you’ve found the source of your electrical problems, and it does it all with a little fanfare thanks to the buzzer alarm. Trust me, it’s like having a tiny cheerleader encouraging you not to get zapped! But wait, there’s more! This tester has dual-range capabilities for AC voltage from 12V to 1000V. Whether you’re trying to diagnose your outdated lamp or tackle the wild wiring of your 1970s home, this tool’s got your back. It even gives you a signal percentage to let you know just how “alive” things are, which is perfect for those of us who need a little extra reassurance.Oh, and let’s not forget about the wire breakpoint finder feature. It’s like a treasure map for electricians, allowing you to track down those sneaky breaks without losing your mind. Who knew fixing things could feel like a high-stakes game of detective? In summary, the KAIWEETS Voltage Tester is your ticket to electrical confidence, saving you from shockingly embarrassing situations (literally). I am by no means an electrician but I just bought a house and am expecting to have to use this a lot. I got it out to play with and it works really well. Case seems durable. It’s a good design both externally and internally. I used it on known sources and it showed voltage where there should be and none where there shouldn’t be. The alarm is nice and loud so you know if you are safe or not. I would definitely trust this tool.

It is practical and, so far, it’s been accurate. It has performed as expected. Good value.

Works good enough but it is not a daily driver, I find it to not be that rugged and would not hold up to everyday usage. I keep it as a back up.

So easy to use
For a novice or amature, this is a great tool to ensure that the power is turned off the matter on which you are working. It needs no formal training or understanding of electrical devices, just that a beeping red means danger and if nothing beeps and flashes at you, you’re ready to go.
