LOHN Founders

OUR FOUNDERS

LOHN was founded in 2018 by two Canadian women, Katerina Juskey and Victoria Mierzwa, who have always had an obsession with scent and its transportive powers.

The two connected in June 2016 via LinkedIn. The timing was magical. They both wanted to start something of their own, and candles were on each of their mood boards.

This little essential oil stone is awesome. I’ve been using a diffuser for years but grew tired of cleaning and refilling it that I stopped using it as much. Then I saw this and gave it a try.It is so cool to have this option. I just sprinkle about 10 drops of an oil and it smells great. It doesn’t overwhelm the senses but you can smell the essential oil in the air. I do think it also depends on the quality of your essential oils. I have no problem smelling an oil like a DoTerra all day long. The scent just lasts. It’s really nice to come back home and smell it when I open the door.My problem now is that I probably need another stone so that I can keep one for am and one for pm.Love this little innovation!

I like most things about this….. It’s small, convenient, doesn’t need power…. When you put essential oil on it, it soaks in a bit and smells nice. However, the smell doesn’t last long at all. I’m talking hours until it’s so faint I wouldn’t know it’s there and it’s right next to my keyboard. So if you want to go through a LOT of essential oil putting more on often (or at least every day), then it’s probably perfect. That would be my only drawback, but it’s kind of a big one.

I was looking for a way to diffuse essential oils without a mechanical/electrical diffuser. I had tried using the oil with candles, but was worried about the oil burning. This gives an easy, no fuss way of diffusing, but is probably not the most efficient. Instructions say to drop about 2-3 drops onto the stone, which should absorb most of it and slowly release it over time, I feel like most of the oil evaporates in the beginning, while some does get absorbed and I can still smell the oil after a longer period of time, but definitely closer to the stone. It looks nice and definitely takes up less space than a diffuser and does not need any maintenance, which is a plus. Maybe over time, and using the same oil, it’ll be more efficient and hold the oil longer.

I really wanted to like this Lohn Pebble essential oil diffuser, but it has been a huge letdown. The pebble is quite small, but it comes packaged nicely and is very giftable. Unfortunately, the finish on the pebble is quite unpleasant and gives me chills each time I touch it, akin to chalk on a chalkboard. Secondly, the pebble absorbs the essential oil really quickly and doesn’t do a great job scenting even a small restroom. Because it soaks up the essential oil so quickly, you’ll need to refill it often which can become costly. For reference, the instruction direct you to put a couple of drops of oil in the pebble. In the attached photos, I probably added about 25 drops of essential oil and it soaked up completely in about 15 minutes. I own an atomizer for essential oil and it does a much better job sending the sent out and is extremely efficient. Those 25 drops of oil would probably last for closer to 30 hours in my atomizer. The pebble was a very disappointing product and I wouldn’t not recommend it, despite how nicely packaged it arrives.

I love me some essential oils but having a water-based diffuser on/near my desk is never the best because of all the electronics and real risk that I will knock the entire thing over. I’ve had some ceramic diffusers in the past but never really had luck with them – they were all too big or coated with something that made the oils not really absorb into the ceramic. This little guy, though – I love him. It’s simple and sits right on top of my docking station. I add some oils in the morning and get the occasional whiff all day long. I also love that the more the oils impregnate the ceramic, the more scent it should give off over time (and I really only use the same 3-4 oils all the time to help control my allergies). It’s well-designed and the oils have yet to leak through at all – and the stone itself now smells AMAZING. I’d definitely recommend this little diffuser stone!

This stone is a pretty, minimalist way to diffuse essential oils in a small area without having to use water or electricity. Keeping it at my work desk, I can smell it strongly, and when simply walking into the room where my desk is located, I can also smell it, though more subtly than I can when sitting at my desk. I have not found it to leak oil at all, so I don’t bother placing anything protective beneath it. The stone is porous, feeling much like un-glazed ceramic or diatomaceous earth stone, and its white color is perfectly uniform. It’s slightly rounded, including on the bottom, so you can rock it with your finger, which is nice if you’re a fidgeter. Underneath, the brand logo is tastefully engraved. As per the instructions on the clean-looking, giftable packaging, whenever you want to change to a different essential oil scent, you simply wash it with soap and water and then let it air dry. Included is a sophisticated-looking storage pouch that feels something like firm linen.Everything about this is very simple and delightful. I highly recommend it!

The stone absorbs the oil and I think it is supposed to release it softly. I can’t smell it. I like the stone and the carry bag but I doubt if I will use more oil on it as I think wasteful if I can’t smell it .
